Parker Homestead 2016

Parker Homestead is located in Poinsett County, Arkansas. Every fall there is a festival portraying life "in the good old days" in rural Arkansas.

Cotton patch

The old homestead has added buildings from the area. There is a post office, church, several businesses and homes to tour. Demonstrations are ongoing and items for sale as well as a variety of food vendors.

Beach Time

I spent last week in Ft. Walton Beach/Destin in the panhandle of Florida. The first few days were perfectly warm and sunny with a slight cool down Saturday and Sunday.

The crowds are gone now that school is back in session and the vacation season has passed. It was a wonderful time for a relaxing vacation.

Pristine white sand and wonderful weather.

Early morning walk

The view to the west

Most days were spent shopping, reading and relaxing but I usually made it back to the beach for the sunset.

My favorite time at the beach.
A great time for reflection.

Sea creature

There is something about palm trees and oleanders in the landscape that makes me happy.

My favorite - fried oysters.
Wonderful oysters with shrimp slaw and fried okra on the side.
Shrimp Basket - great food, nice prices.
I didn't even see french fries on the menu. Great selection of sides.

Shrimp and crab on crispy grits cakes.
Boshamps Seafood and Oyster House in Destin
Nice harbor view.

Peaceful this time of year.

Beach Love.
