Havana, Cuba

In 2009 my husband traveled to Havana. He took my camera along and I was pleased with the photographs he made. Recently I posted a couple of his photos on my blog and a viewer expressed interest in seeing more of the Cuba photographs. With my husband's permission, I am happy to share more of lovely Havana.

The Hotel Nacional

Beautiful Tropical Landscape

A great place for passing time.

I love these trees! They are so pretty.

Around Town

The vintage cars make it seem like stepping back in time.

Amazing Architecture

Wouldn't it be fun to cruise around town in this car?

I'm always interested in the food.

 Lunch served family style.

Street Art

Cuba is definitely on my bucket list.

(All photographs were taken by my husband.)

What Says Summer to You?

Streams, ponds, oceans, lakes. Nothing says summer to me like water. Travel often involves time near, in or on the water. I'd like to share photos from some of my adventures with you.

Catalina Island - California

Charleston, South Carolina

New River Gorge Bridge, West Virginia

Chicago, Illinois

Cuba

Havana, Cuba

The Amalfi Coast, Italy

Capri, Italy

Little Rock, Arkansas

Memphis, Tennessee

Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

San Diego, California

Seattle, Washington

Farm Pond - Cross County, Arkansas

Buffalo River, Arkansas
(Oops, this was fall not summer.)

Vancouver, BC

Georgetown - Washington, DC

Annapolis, Maryland

Caspian Sea - Azerbaijan

Sunrise - Baku, Azerbaijan
(Thanks to jet lag I experienced several wonderful sunrises in Baku. I must say it was worth getting up for.)

Nicaea (Iznik), Turkey

Boston, MA

Rockport, MA

and to end where we began Catalina Island, California

Note: My husband took the two photographs in Cuba. All other photographs are mine.

Peppers and Mushrooms

Do you know where your food comes from? These peppers and mushrooms are grown near Vancouver, BC.

Long rows of yellow peppers.

Peppers in several stages of development.

Beautiful healthy plants with yummy peppers ready for picking.

A simple pepper bloom.

One of the greenhouses where peppers are grown.

Have you ever wondered where those mushrooms in the grocery store come from?  Well, they don't come from a log out in the deep woods somewhere.

Almost ready for harvest.

Waiting to be weighed and packaged for shipment.

Soon to be found in a market near you.
