River Cruise Cuisine (Viking)

I am often asked about "the food" when I return from a trip. Here are some examples of the cuisine we enjoyed on our Viking River Cruise on the Rhine earlier this year.

After a long, 24 hour plus, journey to Amsterdam we were treated to a quick bite on the Aquavit Terrace.

Lunch could be enjoyed on the terrace or in the adjoining dining room.
Soup, sandwiches, pasta ...

Another quick lunch before more touring.

Lunch selections included pasta.

I can't say enough good things about the breakfast buffet!
Every morning there was an omelet station.
In addition the chef would cook your eggs to your preference.
The selection was amazing.

Meals were accompanied by fresh salads and appetizers.

The chicken and waffle fad could be had floating the Rhine.

Dinner was something to look forward to.

I ordered the fish for dinner every night.
I was not disappointed!

Amazing flavor combinations.

Beautiful and tasty.

Yum, yum!

I am including some of my husband's choices.

Dessert
A sweet way to end each meal.

Oh yum, cheese cake!

Banana Split Viking style.

One evening we were treated to a special German-Austrian buffet.
I didn't get a photo of the wienerschnitzel  but it was delicious!

Our chef gave tours of the galley.
It is amazing the quality and quantity of food that is created in this small space every day.

Surf and turf for the final dinner.
Looked delicious. My fish was wonderful.

Did I mention happy hour?
The lounge was a good place to unwind and get updates for the coming day.
